All Products

All transfer benches in the Selector have a back, are adjustable height and can be used for entry from either side.  They must also have a weight capacity of 250 lbs or more.

Swivel and Slide transfer benches can provide additional mobility in the bathroom

If a bathroom has multiple users, a tub-mounted transfer bench will reduce the falling risk for those other users.  Product with four legs have two legs outside the tub.

Handles and belts are available on transfer benches to make swivel and sliding easier and safer.

Drainage

Pooling water is breeding ground for bacteria.  Options vary in terms of form of drainage and comfort.  All products should be cleaned after each use.

Will the user turn on the shower before getting into shower position?  If so, consider drainage options to reduce water pooling on the bench to reduce risk of falling as they slide into showering position.

Drainage holes are not available for padded seats, in which case a split seat will improve drainage. Clean all benches after each use.

Padded seats do not come with drainage holes but some are available with split seats.

Weight Capacity

Carefully consider the weight capacity that is appropriate for now and possible future use.

Seat Measurements

Select a seat depth and width that will allow for safe movement onto the bench and transfer to the shower area.

Colors

Consider a color that is a contrast to the main color in the bathroom.  It will be easier to see when not in use.
